As I brush through The Fiji Times, (12/02), one story that attracted my attention the most was the tale titled "Weather destroys tents".
Highlighted in the article about tropical depression 08F that pulled down classroom tents at Tuatua/ Nasau Primary School which forced children to stay home. In addition, tents where teachers were living had also been damaged.
However, The Sunday Times (11/02) covered a story where the A-G spoke about the need to build new primary and secondary schools to meet the people's demand from communities.
While I agree with him on the matter, nevertheless, I would sincerely ask the Minister for Education to please see to it first that schools destroyed by TC Winston are rebuilt before planning to build new schools.Home | Top
