The Americans played exceptionally well, especially in the team's co-ordination in the field to maintain a higher "ball" possession rate against Fiji.
Perhaps the speedstar of the match was the brilliant Perry Baker with his strong athletic ability and performance.
We have seen the changes of the team dominance in the sport with traditional winners (Fiji, New Zealand and South Africa) gradually losing their prominence with the rise in new and upcoming "powers" such as the USA and Kenya.
Traditional winners (especially our beloved team Fiji) should bear in mind that we are not indispensable in this ever-increasing competitive sport.
We can be replaced any time by teams that we could never imagine defeat us just like that!
These upcoming "power" teams, in particular the USA, have shown us that Fiji need not only to be consistent but to "'think outside the box" of how best we can continuously improve our performances.
I leave this part to our seasoned writers in rugby analysis, Rajnesh Ishwar Lingam and Floyd Robinson, for their thoughts and expertise.
All in all, win or lose let us continue to support and cheer for our team - Go Fiji go!Home | Top
