Hope for the best
WILL it be this tournament which gives the win ? we are looking for? Coach Gareth Baber and the team I know will leave no stone unturned to grab this one. Fans will be glued to their radio and TV for updates throughout the weekend. Let's hope for the best.
Wait and see game
WILL Fiji break the sevens deadlock in Sydney by winning the grand final? Whatever one's views, it is simply a wait and see matter. Watching live telecasts will surely bring reality to all fans at home. Meanwhile, a huge Fiji crowd is expected to gather at the stadium this weekend while many back in the motherland are likely to enjoy watching games over few basins of kava. Bring it on. Bring on the best and may fans be treated to entertaining rugby.
I THINK that Sukanaivalu Rd from the Tomuka junction down towards Lautoka City needs some road humps. There are drivers who think they are part of the "Fast & Furious" team and don't seem to care about the safety of the public especially within the populated vicinity of the Vakatora Housing! There is going to be a serious road fatality ? it is just a matter of when!

I WAS surprised to read that Government will be bringing in foreign canecutters to cut cane because of a shortage of labour. According to the report (FT 26/1) the shortage is because of a boom in the building industry. Oh my goodness, please can I take a few people around to see our youths who are without jobs (some holding degrees) roaming around town. I simply can't believe this.

Title on Page 3 in yesterday's paper, "Foreign canecutters, State to recruit workers from sugar-producing Asian countries." On Page 4, "Seasonal workers for Aust". Should we call that progress?
