To read of someone stealing sheep, not one but five on Christmas Day and four last Saturday, just shows how desperate some people are (FT 23/1).
Do we have a big sheep population in Vunimoli and Bulileka, more than goats, pigs or cows?
I don't think so and therefore anyone trying to sell a sheep to someone else is risking being caught big time.
Come to think of it, why would someone steal sheep and try and sell it knowing he will be caught?
Then the plea for public assistance by a casual worker and father of five in Bouma Settlement in Labasa (FT 23/1) comes to mind, needing help to send his five children to school.
Maybe the person who stole the sheep faces the same back to school predicaments?
We will never know until we care enough to find out why and direct the person to where his need could be met.Home | Top
