Tough times, tough people

The front page picture yesterday of the struggle to reach school crossing the Sigatoka River in cold conditions is simply unbelievable.

What makes it more unimaginable is these young boys carrying the big basin load on their chests ... soaked in water day in and day out.

Such is the passion within them to reach school rather than stay home.

The happy smiles and thumbs up when the picture was taken shows come rain, hail or anything, we will take up the challenge and face it.

This also reminds me of why Nadroga is a tough rugby province as such daring acts moulds you into a complete rugby player with the passion to play for your province and country.

Who knows one of these boys could be the next Tiko Matawalu or Akapusi Qera.
