Scenes of Suva

A. Shariff Shah, Savusavu | Tuesday, January 2, 2018
I was in Suva from last Wednesday.

Everything looks so nice.

I believe only five things give it a bad image.

First are the roads in the city — full of patching. I think gravel roads are better.

But again it's the biggest city so can't have that I guess.

Second is the view out to the harbour, can see so many rusted old fishing vessels and one that sank 100m away from the nice sea wall where people hang out with their loved ones.

I am wondering what else is resting on the sea bottom. Third the famous clock on the Government Building is at it again. It's three hours ahead.

Fourth is the "green and dirty" Nubukalou creek which made me scratch my head.

Fifth the view from any high rise building especially is breathtaking, but when you look at the rear of all these buildings it's filled with filth and rubbish.

No wonder when you walk along Cumming St your nose says please don't breath.

To the good CEO of Suva City Council, I know and salute you for doing wonders for Suva City for the past 15 plus years.

Please insert the above five in your new year's resolution. It will be good.

And if anyone is opposing me on any or all of above please do come and visit my paradise.

It's heaven on Earth and we the Savusavuans are committed to keep it that way.

We don't want to be given your title.
