We often hear from Government that in whatever they do, what change they make, it is for the good of the people or public hence they say no previous governments have done what they are doing for the people of Fiji.

The ATS impasse, however, is a particular case that challenges the stand of Government putting them to the test whether the people of Fiji are really at the centre of what they are doing as they say.

I believe The Fiji Times 20/12 reports titled A-G fears for ATS 'Company could lose business' as impasse continues, clearly showed what is important to Government is the business not to be affected and secondary is the grievances of the people or the workers.

So the question I have is this; Is the Government really for the people?

Because if it is, then it should first be listening to the people before making decisions that may affect the very people they claim to be serving.
