Credit bureaus

I believe Fiji does not really need a credit bureau. It has done well for decades without one.

Just look at all those furniture and other household items retailers who offer credit for goods.

When the RBF credit condition survey states that the commercial banks are tight on lending because of liquidity, funding cost and credit worthiness, it seems the last point is rather minor.

Other banks or credit institutions seem to have less issues with that.

So what would be the real advantage of having such a credit bureau in Fiji and who would benefit from it - except the banks.
