Helping each other

It's really interesting to clearly understand the difference between elegantly defining the term "team work" in an exam then to actually experience it first hand.

I am thankful and proud to have met three incredible individuals who have made up an amazing group that I am affiliated to because we continue to reap the benefits for embracing "teamwork".

Although no doubt very intellectual, these people were very kind, helpful, supportive and most importantly, are simple human beings with pleasant personalities.

Complexity and uncertainty was out of the question! Of course, I am aware that there is a fine line between perfection and consistency. If only we could have more people with these kind of characteristics in this day and age.

The amazing thing about this group is that we have similar stories of the struggles and aspirations in life, particularly on education.

Colin Powell once said that, "A dream doesn't become reality through magic, it takes sweat, determination and hard work".

While listening and sharing as a group about our respective motivating stories, I remembered one fact about life and that is, "all of us have the power and will to prove critics wrong and transform into the person that we could never imagine possible yet retain the qualities (simple and kind, etc) that defines who we are".

In this context, I am referring to examples such as an academic or career path in life. Perhaps let us make this "fact about life" the theme for our new year's resolution and to make a difference for the better.

I conclude by sharing a very inspiring statement once said by someone, "we are not here in this world to belittle one another but we are here to support and help each other".
