I have written a few times in the newspaper about my concern at the recent rise of residential rental these days. I believe some landlords are so cunning because as soon as the tenant moves out they do a little bit of improvement in the flat. And when the new tenant moves in the rental has gone up more than the last one. What is the Commerce Commission and Consumer Council doing? The ordinary working class people just can't afford it. Even a one or two-bedroom unfurnished flat is $700 to $1200 per month. This is incredible.
Can a survey be done by the Government to stop the increase of rental cost?
The residential rent is supposed to be "freezed" as gazetted by Government, but by the look of things nothing has really happened. The rent has skyrocketed.
