Healthy Fiji

I believe Dr Monish Nandan has rightly expressed the way people generally perceive health and the medical profession, (F/T 10/10). There is a lot of truth in it.

The key to good health is in our hands and so is the choice to open doors leading to it.

NCDs have become a national health issue, despite the abundance of fresh fruits, vegetables and crops in Fiji markets.

It reflects the poor health beliefs of people, impacting their health behaviours and attitudes.

The unhealthy choices that many people make tend to be pleasant and even addictive to them.

They may not be concerned about what their health will be like in years to come. Thus becoming resistant to change to good healthy habits.

Healthy Fiji means healthy choices, thus healthy people.
