As Fijians celebrate Fiji Day, I take this time to wish my fellow Fijian brothers and sisters a happy and blessed Fiji Day celebration.

My humble plea to each individual is to observe Fiji Day by sharing peace, joy and unity.

We are blessed to live in a multiracial society where we get a chance to learn each other's language, culture and traditions.

Let's embrace each other as Fijians and respect the diverse cultures around us so that we can show the world that we live in a Fiji that encompasses the basic values of life.

Meanwhile, in Lautoka, fans will converge at Churchill Park to witness this year's Courts IDC. While the home town will be favourites, do not count out the Babasiga Lions as they prepare to defend their title.

Jubilation scenes from last year's IDC final at the national stadium come back to life as the defending champions, laced with star players look confident to retain the coveted IDC crown.

I am confident that come Sunday, the Labasa soccer team will come out victors.

Known for their skills and teamwork, the boys from the North have won a tournament in the West and know that expectation from their fans is high.

I am banking on this set of boys to rise to the challenge and prove critics wrong. It all starts today with the Ba vs Labasa match and a win
