The Attorney-General Aiyaz Sayed Khaiyum had apparently got his facts wrong when he accused The Fiji Times of publishing a story which according to The Fiji Times editor-in-chief Fred Wesley "was never published" ('A-G accuses newspaper of sensationalising story' FT 7/10 ).
Wesley points out that the accusation was "unfortunate".
I believe political leaders get their facts wrong from time to time. Some more often than others.
According to PolitiFact, the non-partisan fact-checking organisation, "only 5 per cent of the things that come out of his (US President Donald Trump's) mouth are true.
More than two thirds, 69 per cent, are either "Mostly False", "False", or "Pants on Fire false".Home | Top
