Sex education

I would like to thank Vimlesh Chand from the Ministry of Education for addressing my concern with regard to sex education and my only hope if the ministry can monitor if schools have actually shelved the old textbooks and are using the revised ones.

Anyway, as a member of the Navua community, I would like to raise another concern, but this time towards commercial banks with regards to the issue that there is no bank branch operating in Navua.

A few days ago I had to travel from Navua to Pacific Harbour to deposit some money at the branch operating there and to my surprise I met some businesspeople from Navua also attending to some bank transactions as well.

This meeting sparked a little discussion around the topic of the need to have banks operating in Navua.

Navua is becoming a fast developing town centre with many important stakeholders such as businesses, private sectors, government stations, two provincial offices and in addition creation of employment from these major stakeholders and yet only two ATMs operate within this important developing town.

So anything to do with regards to banks people have to travel either to Pacific Harbour or Suva and it again costs them their hard-earned income to pay for bus fares and taxi fares to travel to this destination to do simple bank deposits and other bank needs such as loans, creating new account and so forth.

My humble request to some of our commercial banks to take heed of this concern and attend to the matter by opening up new branches in Navua Town.
