With the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series taking a break now and resuming in December 2017, can we consider a domestic competition in Fiji during this period to mould and identify good quality talents that can be nurtured and prepared for the series? What we have noted is when the world series resumes then the domestic rugby sevens tournaments are coinciding with it, and by then the sevens squad is already in place. When are we going to nurture and mould players?
Most importantly during this period leading to December 2017, coach Baber can travel to as many places and villages where sevens is played to hunt down talents.
He cannot do this when the series starts. He needs to concentrate on his team at that time.
Something we need to really consider for the talent base.
