Wonderful rugby weekend

This weekend was wonderful in that we watched Fiji play the mighty Wallabies and the Crusaders play the British and Irish Lions.

In the Fiji game, the score line did not for one bit reflect Fiji's play. They played their hearts out and the game was structured.

Vinaka John McKee and the coaching squad and the team. You did us proud.

I remember when our scrum used to be pushed back like nobody's business and in one game, we gave away two penalty tries. Not this time. The boys held the Wallabies scrum.

I know there are better things to come.

In the Crusaders vs the Lions game, what can we say. Through my non-professional rugby eyes, I saw that the Crusaders may not have played like they played in the Super Rugby competition.

The Lions came to play and as they build up to playing the mighty All Blacks they are getting back after losing to the Blues..

I believe they have a 30-man extended team and I bet when they do meet, their best will be fielded.

I can't wait to watch the game.

Anyway, one day I do wish that the Fiji team will be made up of all locally-based boys.

It's not impossible.
