Favourite shopkeeper

Yesterday morning (Tuesday, June 6) I was at my favourite shop in Waiyavi when a young girl came to buy a small sliced bread.

I don't know what she did, but the plastic bag that the bread was packed in tore and half the contents fell on the road.

I noticed that the girl had a frightened look on her face and looked like she was going to cry.

It seemed that she was frightened to take the bread home knowing that she would be getting a hiding.

Well, the shopkeeper called the girl back and gave her another sliced bread, and told her to hold it properly.

The child beamed and suppressed her tears and went home.

Anyway, when she brought the money it was all in small coins and we thought they may have scrounged around to buy the bread.

But thank you to my favourite shopkeeper.

God bless you.
