Stray cats

Allen Lockington, Lautoka | Sunday, June 4, 2017

A friend and his wife in Lautoka have a cat they love very much.

It is given all the love and care it can get.

It is a female and during mating season, all the stray cats in Lautoka seem to congregate at their home trying their luck.

The cat lives inside the house with them, has its own bed, bowl of water and food.

One mating season they hear a commotion inside their home.

The time is 2 am.

The chap wakes up only to be confronted with tom cats that had tore their mosquito screen and entered the house.

He asked if there was something that could be done about stray cats.

I told him that there is a Dog Act in the Laws of Fiji Rev. Edition 1985, chapter 168 Dogs Act 1971 , but no Cats Act.

Anyway, in the near future, cats will become a problem just like dogs.
