Shoes on powerlines

Karunesh Rao, Executive Projects & Public Relations Manager, Fiji Electricity Authority | Thursday, June 1, 2017
THE Fiji Times Eye-witness regularly feature shoes hanging on FEA power lines.

The removal of these shoes/boots from the power lines requires the power to be switched off before our personnel can access the shoes/boots.

This is a major inconvenience to our customers and FEA needs to consider the impact of such power outages on our customers before switching off the power to remove the shoes/boots.

The FEA wishes to advise that those engaging in throwing shoes on to power lines are engaged in a very dangerous activity which could result in people getting seriously injured and advises the perpetrators to refrain from such activity.
