Yaqona gauge

IT is the norm for people, when drinking yaqona, to say that they bought one kilogram, 2kg or more.

Well, a friend from Nausori asked me: "Allen how many litres of grog did you drink last night?"

He then said that gauging grog by the kilo didn't give a exact figure of how much a person drank. His reason was some people will add more water and some will add less.

When I lived in Mulomulo, a sosoko or strong mix was called a tight mix; a loose mix has more water.

So I told my friend I had 44 gallons of grog on Friday night.

All he could say was: "Boy that's a lot of going to the toilet to mimi."
