THE stage is set for the top-of-the-table clash of the 2017 Super Rugby competition.

And how wonderful it is to have the top two teams choose our rugby-crazy island to battle it out for the top spot.

Thank you Chiefs and your management team for choosing the ANZ Stadium to host your most important match of this year's competition.

Welcome home Chiefs, you are no stranger in Fiji, for as one enters the stadium, one of the billboards proudly displays Welcome to Chiefs' State.

A fitting welcome for a home champion.

On paper, the battle upfront favours the experienced Crusaders pack. But the never-say-die attitude of the Chiefs' forward pack, ably led by Retallick, Messam and Cane will keep them in check.

The backline will be equally contested, but the unpredictable Cruden and the ever-enterprising Lienert-Brown are a must see.

But it will be a battle of the halves, so my choice will be with the Cruden/Kerr-Barlow combination.

Welcome home Chiefs, in Fiji we respect our Chiefs, so you are at home, and welcome home vasu ni Nasukamai Michael Leitch.

My family and I will be flying the Chiefs flag as we listen from across our island paradise.

Go Leitch, go Gallagher Chiefs, nomudou rara qori.
