Minimum wage

So Government is suggesting $2.68 per hour as minimum wage! (FT:17/05).

For a family with a single bread winner that would equate to an approximate net of $95 per 40 hour week or $380 per month.

For the majority of families, the man of the house would be the one working while the wife takes care of the home and the children.

A flat or a house renting for between $100-150 is hard to come by these days and that would leave the family with a balance of $230 per month ($7.66 per day) for food, electricity and water bills, transportation, and clothing, primarily our very basic of needs!

It is difficult to contemplate how the majority of our people survive with such low income!

People have to survive and they will go to any lengths to ensure that they and their families make it through to another day! It clearly explains the one too many negative ramifications throughout our society.

$2.68 is definitely still not enough!
